Founded in 2008, the Orquestra Voadora is a distinctive Rio de Janeiro carnival bloco that blends tradition and innovation, transforming street parades into a vibrant multimedia spectacle; known for its powerful brass-and-percussion sound that mixes marchinhas, samba-reggae, rock, afrobeat and film soundtracks, the bloco stands out for its large-scale performances with hundreds of participants, stilt-walkers, acrobats and jugglers, a strong commitment to inclusion and accessibility, educational music workshops, and a lasting cultural impact that helped inspire the neo–brass band movement, culminating its parades in iconic city spaces such as the Museum of Modern Art (MAM-RJ).
